** Long Post Alert! **

What many of you don't know is that the woman behind the camera from 2023 to 2025 was not physically or mentally okay.

Three years ago today, I was heavily pregnant with my youngest child, lying in a hospital bed with a broken leg after a life-changing incident. I was in so much pain that words could never fully capture it. There were days when I wondered how I would get through the next hour, let alone the weeks and months ahead.

Over the course of my recovery, I spent over six weeks in hospital and was cared for by incredible teams across five hospitals. I underwent two surgeries, followed by weeks of rehabilitation through physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. Today, I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Recovery has been slow, challenging, and, at times, frustrating. Every small milestone has reminded me that healing is a journey, not a race. Today, I'm still recovering from the physical and emotional scars of that fateful day [3 August 2023].

That difficult season changed me in many ways. It taught me to appreciate the little things, celebrate small victories, and trust God even when I couldn't see the road ahead.

As I slowly regained my strength after leaving the hospital, cooking became more than preparing meals. It became therapy. Recording recipes, editing videos, and sharing them with you became a way to keep my mind occupied during some of my darkest days. It gave me purpose, brought me comfort, and helped me heal both physically and emotionally.

It was during that season that I poured even more of my heart into Asedo's Kitchen. Most of the videos you watched were filmed while I was relying on a gutter frame, a walking frame, or crutches before I was finally able to walk unaided. Many of the edits were done while nursing a newborn, and the voiceovers were often recorded late at night as the rest of the world slept around me.

Looking back now, I realise that while many of you saw the finished videos, you couldn't see the pain, the tears, the countless medical appointments, or the determination it took to keep going. Asedo's Kitchen became more than a platform for sharing recipes. It became part of my healing journey.

Today, I look back with a heart full of gratitude. I thank God for the gift of life, for carrying my family and me through one of the darkest chapters of our lives, and for the blessing of continued healing and good health. The progress may have been slow, but it has been steady, and every step forward is a testament to His faithfulness.

I also want to express my deepest gratitude to the people who carried me when I couldn't stand on my own. To my mum and sister, thank you for your unwavering love, strength, and countless sacrifices. To my husband, thank you for standing beside me through every setback, every hospital visit, and every difficult day.

To my beautiful children, thank you for giving me a reason to keep fighting, even when the road ahead felt impossible. Your love gave me the strength to keep going. To my family, friends, and everyone who became part of my support system, thank you for every prayer, every visit, every message, and every act of kindness. I will never take your love and support for granted.

If my journey has taught me anything, it's that no matter how difficult life becomes, never lose hope. Healing takes time, but with faith, perseverance, and God's grace, brighter days will come.

To every person who prayed for me, encouraged me, watched my videos, shared my recipes, left a kind comment, or supported my family during that season, thank you. You may never fully know the difference your love and support made, but I will always be grateful.

If you've ever wondered why I believe that Asedo's Kitchen is more than just food, this is why. It carried me through one of the hardest seasons of my life, gave me purpose when I needed it most, and reminded me that even in brokenness, God can create something beautiful.

To God be all the glory! ❤️🙏
