Sometimes the idea is already there.

The extra room.
The quiet retreat.
The outdoor space that works in every season.
The extension that gives your home room to breathe.
The renovation that finally makes the house feel like your own.

This newly created outdoor room was designed as a space with many purposes - separate from the main home, yet deeply connected to the way the client lives.

Dark and moody in its materiality, yet beautifully light in feeling, with open walls, soft air and sunlight cutting through the trees.

A place to gather.
To work.
To host.
To retreat.
To simply be.

Often, the homes we dream of do not require starting again. They begin with one thoughtful addition, one brave decision, one idea that is finally brought to life.

So perhaps the question is not, “Could we?”

Perhaps it is, “What are we waiting for?”

Pot fillers. Love them? Curious about them?

Pot fillers are valued as much for their sculptural appearance as their function. What was born from necessity in commercial kitchens in the US, they have slowly made their way to our Australian kitchens.

We love them for both their functional luxury feel.

Native violets. Beautiful little ground cover plants selected by for our Fairlight project.

Their delicate purple flowers instantly take me back to childhood birthday cakes, where sugared violets were always the most special finishing touch.

Finishes are not separate decisions.

That rug you love might be perfect or it might fight with the floorboards, flatten the cabinetry, make the paint look yellow and change the whole mood of the room.

Finishes are part of the longer design journey, full of many decisions that you may not have considered.

Still crushing on this fabulous Brodie sofa from , we used in our "Tongkah" project - an Arts & Crafts style home in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. A beautiful project for long-standing clients, and we were thrilled to be part of this latest revitalisation.
