Just call me the Etsy defector.
I have a lot to say about how impossible they make it to establish any form of side hustle, let alone make a reasonable amount of money. Suffice to say that not only have I been charged more in fees and shipping than I’ve actually made back (like at this point I’m pretty much paying to send things AND I’m so obsessed with offering a good experience that in addition to already operating at a loss, I’m throwing freebies in ) but that I’ve actually made more money on those apps that reward you for absentmindedly mobile gaming and completing surveys than I have from Etsy. Like, that’s actually pathetic.
Awesome.
So they’re holding onto pretty much the only profit I think I’ll ever get to see, presumably to find a way to apply more stupid charges, but once they release that amount, I’m shutting it down. Because screw them.
I’m not posting this to be all like woe is me. Rather, I have a bunch of friends that make awesome things and I don’t want them to get similarly screwed. Heed my warning. Let my ire be your guide.
Everything is pretty much going to be living here unless I find something better. Which I don’t think I will. I like how simple it is. I like how seamlessly it links with social media. I’m a busy bee with many important bee things I shouldn’t be(e) procrastinating! Easy is my jam.
