Every project begins with a starting point.

For this cottage-inspired home near Dural, it was the stone.

The movement, warmth and depth within the slab helped shape the entire palette, influencing everything from the soft cabinetry colour to the navy accents and natural timber tones used throughout the kitchen.

To bring the scheme together, we paired Porter's Paints Washed Linen with Yacht Race, creating a balance of warmth, contrast and timeless appeal.

It's these layers of materiality that help a space feel considered, cohesive and connected to its surroundings.

Entertaining was a key consideration in this cottage-inspired kitchen designed for a property near Dural.

Positioned opposite the island, a dedicated bar area introduces warmth through timber joinery, glass-front cabinetry and integrated wine storage, creating a space designed for both everyday living and entertaining.

Integrated refrigeration is seamlessly incorporated within the surrounding cabinetry, maintaining a cohesive and timeless aesthetic while ensuring functionality is never compromised.

The palette combines soft neutrals, natural timber, statement stone and deep navy accents to create a kitchen that feels both refined and welcoming.

Not every kitchen needs to be white.
For this Hawkesbury located, cottage inspired kitchen, designed for a property just beyond Dural, we wanted something with a little more depth and character while keeping the overall palette light, timeless and welcoming.
The navy island became the anchor of the space, creating contrast against the soft shaker cabinetry, warm timber flooring and statement stone. It's a simple move, but one that completely changes how the kitchen feels.

A closer look at the details.

This Hawkesbury kitchen concept was all about balance. Soft, light cabinetry paired with a deep navy island, warm timber flooring and a statement stone that draws your eye from every angle.

Designed for a property just beyond Dural, the palette takes its cues from the surrounding landscape, creating a space that feels both refined and relaxed.
It's these layered materials and subtle contrasts that give a kitchen its character.

Some concepts stay with you long after they're presented. This cottage-inspired kitchen is one of them.

Designed for a property in the Hawkesbury region, just a short drive from Dural, the brief was to create a space that felt warm, timeless and connected to its rural surroundings.

Creamy shaker cabinetry, warm timber flooring and a dramatic natural stone formed the foundation of the palette, while the deep blue island brought depth and character to the heart of the home.

This concept formed part of the early design thinking for the property, and it's still one I enjoy looking back on. There's something about the mix of classic detailing, natural materials and thoughtfully layered textures that feels both welcoming and enduring.

It reminds me that good design doesn't need to shout to make an impression.

This selection pairs soft textured upholstery, subtle stone-inspired finishes and sculptural forms to bring a sense of calm and refinement to the heart of the home. Designed for a Northern Beaches apartment, the aesthetic balances contemporary elegance with relaxed coastal living.
