FMB Architects took the team to Yowani this week, for the launch of the NEWLYNE Experience Centre. A prefabricated building built in a very short time frame, it can be dissassembled and re-used at the end of the development reducing the projects carbon footprint.
The Yowani Masterplan plan will deliver over 1,000 new dwellings to the Canberra market, where there is a significant shortfall in housing and high demand for quality property.
FMB are working on a number of exciting projects in the Yowani Masterplan and look forward to sharing more soon!

The distinct palm tree landscape in Suva, provides an ideal backdrop for 8 premier grade townhouses responding to the environment. Deep shadow boxes are created on the facade to provide shading from the sun and glass louvres in combination with breeze blocks, naturally ventilate the homes from a humid climate. Images below of the design and built work following a trip by the team to Fiji in September.

Our semi-detached townhouse project in Queens Park takes full advantage of stunning views of park lands and tree tops. The townhouses connect occupants to the outdoors through balconies and a northern rooftop garden, where nature seamlessly intertwines with urban living.
Despite the spatial challenges presented by a narrow site, Environmentally Sustainable Design principles helped inform the design, creating townhouses with an abundance of natural light and fresh air.

Our mixed-use development in Canberra draws upon the natural beauty and tranquility of Yowani golf course. The buildings edges are softened by the curve and large balconies with curved planters bring greenery and life to every apartment. The development consists of 52 apartments in a diversity of apartment types and neighbourhood retail that compliments the community nature of the development.

Modular Building Canberra
Modular buildings are designed for a number of reasons. They reduce the construction program, as building components are built off site and then assembled on site, making construction faster. The pre-fabricated modules are built in a controlled environment so the build quality is generally good and you don’t have the risk of dealing with rain delays during construction. Modular also provides the opportunity for disassembly and re-use reducing the buildings impact on the environment.
Working closely with the builder/ client FMB_Architects have designed a striking modular building in Canberra, due for completion by the end of the year.
