MEZUZAH MONDAY… introducing the ‘Tefer’, or stitch mezuzot.

Inspired by my love of weaving and stitch, these mezuzot explore the meeting of textiles and ceramics — two seemingly disparate disciplines that have long informed my work. I’m drawn to the unexpected connections between materials, textures and patterns, and to the ways these different forms of making can come together in a single object.

Getting this batch ready to head to the Jewish Museum in New York .

SHABBAT SHALOM…wishing you a peaceful Shabbat and a beautiful weekend ahead.

A little modern touch for a timeless tradition.

My art deco–inspired challah cloths bring colour, pattern and contemporary design to the Shabbat table. And now, I’m adding complementary coloured challah platters to complete the set — launching soon on Etsy.

OCTOBER 7…my birthday has always been October 7, but I can never think of this day simply as my birthday anymore.

The pain that this date carries is something I can never let go of. October 7 will always hold a profound sadness for me — and for so many others.

Today, I hold both things at once: gratitude for my life, and grief for all that this day has come to represent.

MEZUZAH MONDAY…this sweet one-off mezuzah is now available in my Etsy store, in the STUDIO FINDS section.

A building in Sydney…a garage door in Brussels…I never know what elements from my environment will seep into my work and come out in unexpected ways. 🏢

Mostly, it happens the other way around. I make something, and then I find it somewhere in the outside world — and have a little ‘aha’ moment. 🤩

SHABBAT SHALOM…JUMBO candlesticks… a few weeks in the making.

Because they’re so large and heavy, they need to dry very… very… slowly. Too quickly and they can crack.

Once they reach leather hard, they’re ready to be etched — but this too requires very… very… careful hands, as even the smallest amount of pressure can create a hairline fracture. 😥

There’s something fitting about making these slowly. Clay demands patience. There’s no rushing the process.

MEZUZAH MONDAY…Exciting news! I’ve started a new section in my Etsy store called STUDIO FINDS.

Here you’ll find pieces at a special discounted price — perhaps a sample, a slight variation in glaze colour, or an organic variation in shape.

SHABBAT SHALOM……if you can think it up, I will try and make it.

A customer from New York really wanted a Natla in a purple/eggplant colour, so the hunt began for the right glaze.

After a few tests, making my own colours as well as trying ready-made glazes, we settled on this gorgeous one — Eggplant by Mayco.

And so off it went yesterday 📮 to its new home in New York.

Wishing everyone a Shabbat Shalom 🥖🍷🕯️🕯️ and Chag Sukkot Sameach 🌴🍋

The Natla is now available in four colours: Alabaster, Midnight Blue, Midnight Black and, now, Eggplant.

SHARING LIGHT… 🕯️

If you would like to contribute in a personal way to a memorial for the Bondi attacks of December 14, join to make a simple pinch-pot lantern. No pottery experience is needed at all — everyone is welcome.

I’ll be helping out this Tuesday evening, 6–7.30pm, and facilitating a workshop on Thursday 24th, 10–11.30am.
