This year, Lights on Maize has chosen to raise funds for Heart Kids Australia.

We have chosen this charity as we have 2 beautiful kids in our street that underwent major heart surgery when they were both less than 6 months old for Tetralogy of Fallot. The street would not be the same without these 2 little girls as they bring so much joy and happiness to us all.

We’re so happy to see our community enjoying the Lights on Maize displays. It’s wonderful to share the joy of the season with you all 🎄✨

As you visit, we kindly ask everyone to please be mindful of the following:
• Park considerately and safely, keeping streets and driveways clear for traffic and local residents.
• Be aware of pedestrians, especially children and families.
• Please respect our resident’s properties and keep to the footpath or nature strip.
• Our displays are for viewing only, so please don’t touch or move any decorations.

These small considerations help keep everyone safe and ensure the display can be enjoyed by all throughout the season.

🎅 Lights on Maize – Official Apology 🎄

Okay okay… we KNOW we’ve been quieter than Santa’s sleigh with no bells. 🔔
But don’t worry, we haven’t disappeared. We’ve just been knee-deep in tangled lights, rougue timers and enough extension cords to power the North Pole.💡✨

We’re working hard behind the scenes to get everything ready for our big switch-on:

Lights on Maize. (Part 2)

Each year the residents of Maize Street turn on the Christmas lights in a big way.

Almost every house in the street is decorated with bright lights accompanied with Santa Claus effigies, reindeers and Christmas trees.

It has become an attraction as each night an untold number of people descend into the street to appreciate the display.

For many it is a reminder of their childhood years and now they bring their children to see and enjoy the happiness.

For some their displays extend to the footpath in the form of a lit up archway and this image shows the effect of two archways each with different coloured lights.
