Marylou Sobel Interior Design By changing the way people feel about their environments, ultimately it can change the way they feel about themselves.

https://linktr.ee/marylou_sobel_interior_design I’m Marylou Sobel, founder of Marylou Sobel Interior Design. I pride myself on creating beautiful homes for my clients, showing them that crafting impeccable rooms and stylish homes can be one of the most satisfying and worthwhile experiences. With 30 years of experience in the interior design industry, a strong aesthetic,

a keen eye for detail, a passion for design and a deep love of all things beautiful, I can help take your home to the next level, whether you’re designing a new home from scratch or simply looking to refresh your current interiors. My love for interiors means I’m always at the cutting edge of design trends, while my innate understanding of design, colour, texture and patterns (and how to bring these all together to create beautiful rooms) allows me to artfully combine modern elements with vintage, iconic and custom pieces. Using authentic materials and fabrics to create texture is a signature feature of my designs. I’m passionate about creating stunning and functional spaces that suit your tastes and needs, resulting in enduring beauty and of course, a home that you love living in; one that becomes more precious over time. I love working closely with my clients, as well as architects, builders and suppliers to ensure the most beautiful, stylish and long-lasting designs. Working with my clients, I remind them that bringing more colour, texture and design into their homes will filter through every element of their life; being more in love with your home means being more in love with your life. CORE VALUES || EMPATHETIC

Empathy is at the heart of how we design at MSID, shaping every decision through genuine understanding and care. We place deep emphasis on listening to our clients’ intentions - truly hearing their needs, vision, and lifestyle before translating them into thoughtful, considered spaces.

At MSID, empathy ensures every project feels personal and intentional. By designing with awareness and sensitivity, we create spaces that not only reflect how our clients live but also honour how they want to feel within them.

FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION || Moodboards give form to an idea before it becomes a space. They define tone, texture, and atmosphere, guiding every choice that follows.

Even if the final room evolves, the moodboard acts as the reference point that keeps the result aligned with the original vision.

FRIDAY FOCUS || Chimney Detail
Hard finishes are the permanent elements that shape the structure and feel of a space.

Chimneys often act as architectural anchors, adding weight, texture, and a sense of permanence to a space. Brick is commonly used for its durability, warmth, and natural variation, which brings depth without needing decoration.

In this bedroom, the chimney is softly integrated but still plays an important role. The exposed brick adds subtle texture and warmth, grounding the lighter finishes around it. Instead of standing out, it quietly adds balance and depth to the overall space.

TUESDAY TOUCHES || Coffee table styling & balance
It’s always about balance - not how much you can fit, but how well each piece works together.

Here are some guidelines to help you create your next harmonious coffee table:
- Books, so it adds structure and visual weight
- Sculptural objects, so it introduces contrast and form
- Natural elements, so it softens the overall composition
- A tray, so it grounds and keeps everything cohesive

A considered arrangement always feels more elevated than a full one.
