Downward or outward facing strip lighting? Both options serve a purpose.

Downward Facing: Typically installed under pool coping or the underside of steps, this method keeps the light source completely hidden from view. It delivers a smooth wash of light that flows down the surface, illuminating the water or walkway without any distracting glare. This is the ideal solution for long pool perimeters where you want a seamless, high-end “glow” rather than a bright line of light.

Outward Facing: By projecting the light directly outwards, you create a much brighter, focused “halo” effect. This orientation is perfect for drawing attention to specific features, such as spillways, statement water elements, or landscaping. Ideal for highlighting a focal point.
