PART 4 | Before you book your venue

Your venue could determine what your wedding looks like before you’ve chosen a single flower.

If you’re dreaming of long tables under fairy lights, Tuscan garden vibes and an open-air dinner, it’s going to be pretty hard to recreate that inside a function centre with round tables.

Likewise, if your vision is polished, refined luxury, a rustic barn may have you fighting the space from day one.

This doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with either venue.

It just means your venue and your vision need to speak the same language.

If the aesthetic matters to you, speak to your stylist or designer before locking in the venue. We can help you work out whether the space will actually support what you’ve been saving on Pinterest.

Because it’s much easier to choose the right canvas than spend thousands trying to disguise the wrong one. Follow along for part 4.

Which one are you choosing? 1, 2, 3 or 4?

Work for the divine Solasta Blooms last week. What a treat, every petal was checked for perfection, and the bees were in heaven with that cherry blossom!

Nothing better than working with like minded flower lovers. It can be isolating as a sole trader, we often spend more time in front of a screen than with the flowers. Sometimes you just need to get your hands on some snips.

PART 3 | You don’t need all the things

The quickest way to blow your wedding budget? Trying to have everything you’ve seen on Instagram.

You don’t need 10 bridesmaids.
You don’t need bonbonnières.
You don’t need the sexy concierge table just because everyone else has one.

You need to decide what actually matters to you.

We start with the feeling. What do you want your guests to remember? Where do you want the impact? What are the things you genuinely care about?

Then we design around that.

And your guest count matters too. A tiny minimalist arrangement might look beautiful on Pinterest, but put it on a large round table in a 300-person function room and suddenly it looks completely lost.

Minimal tables are having a moment, and I love them. They can also be a clever way to spend your budget more intentionally.

But trends only work when they work for your wedding.

Save the things you love. Then let us help you work out which ones actually belong together.

Secret garden proposals might be my new favourite thing. A little hidden spot in North West Sydney, flowers designed just for them, intimate nooks and crannies, with plenty of hiding places for a photographer to sneak in a shot of the moment.

Would you say yes?

PART 2 | Repurposing

Repurposing your wedding flowers can save you money, and less waste is always high on our agenda. But only if it actually makes sense.

I love getting more than one moment out of your flowers, but I won’t recommend moving something just for the sake of saying we’ve repurposed it.

Ceremony flowers → behind or beside your bridal table? Absolutely. On your table top? Absolutely not. We will not be pulling apart and making new arrangements while your guests are taking their seats.

Aisle meadows → floor arrangements at the ends of long banquet tables? Perfect. For table centres? Depends on type of flowers, the type of tables, the weather.

Ceremony flowers → cocktail hour while your guests are already there drinking? Nope.

And delicate aisle flowers that have spent a February afternoon baking in the sun? I probably don’t want those sitting on your dinner table either.

Good repurposing should feel like the flowers were always meant to be there.

Save this one for your wedding planning. Follow along for part 3.
