Join us for one of the most exciting aspects of our design process: the Shopping Trip! This isn’t just a casual stroll through stores; it’s a well-planned trip where we present our clients with the actual lounge, rugs, lamps, and furniture pieces that we’ve carefully selected for their spaces—just like outlined in their design plan. 🛋️✨

This day is all about bringing the vision to life and putting legs on the design, making it feel tangible and real. It’s incredible to see how everything begins to come together! Are you ready to watch your dream space take shape? Let us know in the comments! 💬🛒

One of the biggest mistakes I see homeowners make?
Waiting too long to involve an interior designer.
Many people think they should reach out once finishes are being selected… or when it’s time to furnish.
But the truth is — the earlier a designer is involved, the more we can help shape the bigger picture.
Layout. Flow. Functionality. How your home will actually feel to live in every day.
Getting involved earlier can often help avoid costly mistakes later, make decision-making easier, and create a home that feels more considered from the beginning.
’m talking all about this in Episode 32 of The My Decorator Podcast 🎙️

MYTH: White walls automatically make a space feel bigger.

Not always true.

While white can reflect light, a stark or flat white can actually make a space feel cold, harsh, or disconnected — especially in homes with limited natural light.

What often works better is a soft, warm neutral palette that adds depth while still keeping things light and open. Think warm whites, soft greys, oat tones, or muted earthy shades.

It’s not just about making a space look bigger — it’s about making it feel comfortable, calm and liveable.

If you’re trying to make your home feel bigger, calmer, or more considered, I’d love to help you design a space that actually works for how you live.

Hi, I’m Prue

Growing up in a small two-bedroom home, I learned how thoughtful design can transform even the simplest space. I still remember the potbelly stove keeping us warm in winter and my mum sewing Curtains to block the summer heat. She had a natural gift for creating comfort and beauty — and that legacy inspired me to pursue a career in interior design.

Today, I bring that same passion and professional expertise to every project, helping people create homes that are not just beautiful, but joyful, peaceful and truly reflective of who they are.

✨ I’d love to help you turn your home into a space you’ll love living in.

Ever walked into a room and it just felt right…
But you couldn’t explain why?
It’s not about having better furniture or copying a style.
There are specific design techniques that make a space feel calm, functional and easy to live in.
And without them, a room can look good — but still feel off.

This project was for a beautiful family apartment that needed to feel more intentional, more functional, and more reflective of the client’s heritage and lifestyle.

Once the design direction was confirmed, we moved into the transformation phase:

• A site visit to refine key finishes — selecting flooring and reviewing paint colours in the space
• A guided shopping experience where we helped our client see and sit on the lounge we’d recommended, along with other key furniture pieces and order (ensuring everything worked cohesively together — right down to the rug pairing perfectly with the new carpet)
• Behind-the-scenes sourcing of styling pieces — cushions, décor and finishing layers, all thoughtfully selected to bring the vision to life

Then came styling day — the final and most rewarding step.

We carefully placed each piece of furniture in its ideal position, hung artwork at the perfect height, and layered in every detail so the space felt complete, balanced, and truly them.

And finally… the reveal 🤍

A home that feels considered, functional, and deeply personal — ready to be lived in and enjoyed.

If you’re ready to create a home that feels beautifully considered and truly reflects you, we’d love to help.

A client story 🤍

Claire came to us feeling disconnected from her home.
It didn’t reflect her, it didn’t feel calm… and it certainly didn’t feel like a place she could fully exhale in.

The problem
Like so many of our clients, Claire had beautiful pieces — but no cohesion, no clear direction, and spaces that weren’t supporting how she actually wanted to live.

The solution
We worked closely with Claire to create a home that felt intentional, layered, and deeply personal.
Through thoughtful design decisions, refined styling, and a clear vision, her space became somewhere that felt calm, warm, and truly hers.

The lesson
A heartfelt home isn’t about starting from scratch — it’s about creating alignment between your space and your life.
When your home supports you emotionally and practically, everything shifts.

If this resonates, Claire’s journey is a beautiful one to explore ✨

Claire came to me feeling like something in her home just wasn’t working.
She thought she needed to change things… maybe buy new furniture.
But the real issue was that her home wasn’t supporting how she actually lived.
This is something I see all the time.
Homes that look fine — but feel hard to live in.
