When your husband pulls out his dart board you bought him 10 years ago, what do you do? Make him a dart board stand of course!

A last minute summer holiday project made with all upcycled timber. This included a side from our boys' cot. This had already been upcycled into a desk for them when they were younger and now used again!👌

Summer school holidays are for home projects. Today I tackled the job of refreshing my outdoor furniture. This involved sanding the pieces and re-spraying them with a garden furniture oil to bring them back to life and protect the wood for another couple years from the elements.

All of these pieces I have made by hand using reclaimed pallet wood and barrel staves, making them unique to us.

A few hours later (thanks to a spray gun) and the pieces look like new again! 👌

It’s been a little quiet on the creative front this year — work, volunteering, running a house… all the usual things have taken priority.

But last weekend I finally got back into the shed, and it was such a nice change of pace. I put together a couple of plant stands for the front porch using some old easel-style legs that have been gathering dust, paired with pallet wood and a splash of decking oil.

They’ve finished off the space perfectly — so happy with how they turned out, paired with some thrifted planters! 🌿🪵✨

Looking forward to the Summer break to get some more projects completed and refreshing all my outdoor furniture with some sanding and fresh coat of oil.👌🌞

It's been a very busy year with work, volunteering, sport etc, and this has meant not much time left for my projects and markets. I will be back for a couple markets in the Barossa in 2025, so watch this space. Plus hopefully some little home projects over the summer break🔨🪛

I tried my hand at engraving for my workplace last week. Turns out it is very similar to wood burning so I got the hang of it quickly. The stubbie holders for all the workers at Wonganella Constructions turned out really well 👌
