“Vespers” oil on canvas 21cm x 21cm (just a little one)
Luckily I have some beautiful little models to assist in my artwork these days. (Trying to paint their beauty and the gentle innocence encasing them is a challenge!)
I hope you like our precious little baby grandson as much as I do.

Sketching this little black cat’s life is so amusing .
From domestic home bliss with a loving couple during COVID, to a baptism of fire with infants now in his domain.
I can’t believe he turned his back on this little predator. 😂

Visiting QAG and stopped to appreciated Rupert Bunny’s 1906 masterpiece, “Bathers”.
Gorgeous women languishing around a pool (like a fantasy harem). The two reclining women at the front, look as though they earned a break. I love the fact that Rupert decided to place them there together with one taking a big draw and the other simply enjoying the atmosphere with a ciggy and a cuppa. He must have had a quiet snicker as he painted these two. I had to quickly sketch one with the pencil and paper provided.
(I might have to go back and sketch the other girl, ha. 😂)

The Queensland Art Gallery is looking gorgeous with some fabulous exhibits and artworks. I found some Picasso etchings and Rubens portraits down the back! I highly recommend a drop in.

“Does my ass look big in this?” (Little donkey)
28cm x 36cm oil on custom material
Thought I’d capture one of the little donkeys from . They were so cute!
Experiment: Discovered it’s not easy adhering a large amount of material to board using archival binder medium. It can be my dinky donkey on a shonky plonk. 😅

🙏(Thanks for allowing me to use a piece of your lovely material.)

Sitting on the couch smiling, sketching memories of walks with little ones on my You Doodle app. They just make me laugh… from the cheeky smiles, the funny postures, to the mimicry and sheer joy that an outing brings to them. Thank god for kids. They make you look up and find their joy in the world too. 🥹

Well, this little cutie gets an outing to the RQAS’s Members annual exhibition too - in the digital section from 16/6/26 - 4/7/26. 🥰
I love using app for these little sketches. They are printed beautifully as giclees, on quality Hahnemuhle paper and just make me smile. “New Shoes 2”

Capturing riverwalk memories✍️
I always get a sense of joy when I visit Brisbane cultural precinct. Sketching it seems to reinforce the joy from my wanderings. The beauty of the new Glasshouse Theatre (with its amazing view across the river), to people watching and the ever present “local” Ibis. I thought this little visitor deserved its own portrait. It happily sat beside me, hoping to sneak a nibble of my lunch. No such luck!
(Hope the colours are right…my late posts often change the colours!)

Southbank views 2026 compared to Southbank 2023.
I decided to sketch and compare the views from that same area. (I had quickly sketched it when The Star Casino was being built during 2023. Interesting.
I loved watching kids play, people relax and especially the little Asian “influencer” with her companion photographer. She took so many poses on the grass. I really hope she got a good one. Her female friend was looking a bit frazzled by the end of it 😅
