FEEDING YOUR ORCHIDS 🌸

Fertilising your Orchids - To keep your Orchids in prime condition , they need to be fed every 7-14 days. The use of special Liquid Fertilisers are applied to the leaves as a Foliar spray in the mornings when the sun is shining. At Fame Orchids we apply "Duett A+B" Liquid Fertiliser each week during the warm months, or every 2 weeks during the cooler months, applied at the rate of 1.5 to 2 mls per liter of water. (To be used up within 12 hours).

Remember like us humans your Orchids require food intake to continue growing and flourishing.

Fungus Spots!

Are you fungiciding your Orchids?

Fungal spores land on water droplets on the leaves of your Orchid causing fungus spots.

We can help avoiding this by ensuring we're watering our Orchids in the mornings which allows the plant to dry out throughout the day and concentrating on watering the root system only of the plant.

We fungicide Fame Orchids Nursery with a product called Mancozeb. We spray this as a precautionary once a month on all of our orchids in the nursery. It comes as a powder that we mix in water, to stop it leaving water droplet marks we add a wetting agent (we use Eco-oil) to get a nice even spread across the plant and leaves. This leaves an antifungal protective film on your plants that protects in these unpredictable weather times.
