2 years in Business!

Today marks 2 years of owning DARLING INTERIORS and I couldn't be prouder of how far it has come. Each year has brought new opportunities, beautiful projects and meeting lots of great people.

I'm also excited to officially introduce Liz, who has recently joined the team. As Darling continues to grow, I'm looking forward to what the future holds.

Interior Designer / Selections Coordinator

We are seeking an Interior Designer / Selections Coordinator to join our team, working across residential new homes and renovation projects. This is a part-time role (2 days per week), with the potential to increase days as the role and workload grow. No design software experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

○ Meet with clients to understand their goals, functional requirements, aesthetic preferences, and budget

○ Develop cohesive design concepts aligned with client needs and project scope

○ Prepare and present interior design selections, including finishes, fixtures, and materials

○ Communicate effectively with clients, builders, suppliers, and internal team members throughout the selections lifecycle

Skills & Experience

○ Qualification or strong background in interior design or a related field

○ Experience developing residential design concepts and managing selections

○ Strong knowledge of finishes, fixtures, materials, and current residential design trends

○ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills

○ Highly organised with strong attention to detail

One of my favourite projects (and design styles) from 2025 is almost complete, so I thought I'd share some progress photos and insight into the selections from this "old money" inspired build.

I was given complete creative control of the selections for this build, on the proviso that it was to have high-end finishes, and packed a punch. This build is 1 of 2 Dwellings that will be coming to the market in the coming months by .

This Build ia a Victorian terrace–inspired aesthetic defined by depth, heritage, and understated luxury. Dark, moody tones and masculine materials are paired with classic architectural detailing to create an “old money” sensibility — timeless, confident, and unapologetically refined. This style values craftsmanship and proportion over trends, resulting in spaces that feel both historic and enduring.

I’ve been a little quiet on here, but behind the scenes it’s been a big year.

As the industry takes a well-earned holiday, I’m also taking a small break to reset, refresh, and get inspired for what’s ahead.

This past year I’ve had the opportunity to help builders and be part of projects I never even dreamt I’d work on, so thank you to all the suppliers, builders, and clients for your trust, support, and friendship.
One of my goals this year is to share more of the finished projects I’ve worked on - because there’s so much I can’t wait to show you.

I’m very proud of what I achieved in 2025, and can't wait to see where this year takes me.

I have always admired the buildings that line the Streets of Toowoomba, and often wonder how they were built and why we don't build them like we used to. So when I started looking for a new home for Darling Interiors - I really hoped for a space in one of these iconic Buildings.

The beautiful building my new office is in was built in the early 1900's, making it over 100 years old. The things this building would have seen.
