🎨✨ WATERCOLOUR MAGIC – EXPLORING THE EFFECTS OF SALT!

Who knew a little sprinkle of salt could create something so beautiful? 🌟

Come and discover a fun and fascinating watercolour technique at Art on Main this week.

In this class, we'll show you how adding salt to wet watercolour paint creates gorgeous little starbursts and unexpected textures. You'll experiment with this magical effect to create falling snow, weathered rocks and moody winter skies.

It's a wonderful opportunity to try something different, explore your creativity and enjoy a relaxing art session. No experience needed, we'll guide you step by step.

⛵💙 JOY OF PAINTING WITH ACRYLICS: SAILING ON CALM WATER

Imagine a quiet stretch of open water, soft blue and grey skies, and a little sailboat drifting peacefully across the scene. Doesn't that sound like a lovely way to spend your creative afternoon or evening? 🥰

This week at Art on Main, we're painting Sailing on Calm Water, a beautiful, peaceful scene where sometimes less really is more.

You'll work with gentle shades of blue and grey to create a wide-open waterscape, then add a single little sailboat as the focal point. We'll also explore how to paint the reflection beneath the boat and use palette-knife techniques to bring movement and texture to the water. 🎨

It's a wonderful opportunity to slow down, enjoy the colours and create a painting that feels calm, timeless and beautiful.

🏺✨ ART OF POTTERY: COIL POT — COIL BY COIL, SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL! 💛

There's something wonderfully relaxing about working with clay, taking your time and watching a simple piece of clay slowly transform into something you can call your own. 🤎

This week in Art of Pottery, we're exploring the beautiful technique of coil building.

You'll learn how to roll even coils of clay, join them together to build your pot, and turn those very coils into gorgeous decorative details. Think twists, spirals, braids and lovely textures that make every piece unique.

And here's the fun part, you can shape your pot however you like. Tall, wide, straight or curved. You could even add a little decorative feature, like the sweet bird perched on the rim of our inspiration piece. 🐦

It's a lovely hands-on experience where you can slow down, enjoy the process and create something truly special with your own two hands.

🖤✏️ LIFE DRAWING IS BACK AT ART ON MAIN!

Two and a half hours to slow down, switch off from the usual noise, and focus on nothing but your pencil, your paper and the moment in front of you. 💛

After a little break, we're excited to welcome everyone back for another evening of Life Drawing with a professional male model.

We'll begin with a gentle warm-up session with Beverley to help you settle in, loosen up and get your pencil moving. Then it's time to draw, starting with quick 5- and 10-minute poses before finishing with one longer pose to really explore your observation and drawing skills. ✏️

And the best part? You don't need to be an expert artist. Your first line doesn't have to be perfect, and there's no pressure to create a masterpiece. Life drawing is about looking, learning, experimenting and enjoying the process.

Come on your own, bring a friend, or reconnect with our lovely drawing community. Whether you've joined us before or have been curious about trying life drawing for the first time, we'd love to see you there. 🖤
