Home-cooking dishes are different to the meals we find at restaurants, but very authentic and important in the every-day lives of people from diverse cultures. You can join a dining event - up to 6 people - for a small fee ($30-$40) to cover the ingredients, preparation, and skill of our guest chefs. Enjoy 3 courses (more-or-less) of authentic home cooking from one of Australia’s multicultural cuisines, prepared by a local home-cooking chef. Fee: depending on the event;
• $30 for lunch courses
• or $40 for dinner courses
All collected funds go directly to the local home-cooking chef on the day. This is not a cooking class – this is an opportunity to share a home-cooked meal with people who enjoy multicultural food, and talk about our enjoyment of food and cooking. Menu: the ingredients will be specially selected by the chef. Meat will not be used, but fish, cheese and eggs may be used. If you have specific dietary concerns, please inform me when you reserve a lesson.

The chefs for these events will be local Central Coast residents. We aim to have a wide variety of cultures and cuisines represented in our events. Chefs will either be people who have grown-up overseas in a different culture, or people who grew up in Australia, from a minority ethnic/cultural background. The chef will come to the venue 1.5 hours prior to the event start time. For example, if we organise the lunch to begin at 12pm, the chef may come to the venue at 10:30pm, and the host will assist in preparing the meal.
