Earlier this year, I was fortunate to test knit two designs from gudrunjohnston newest book Shetland Shades: Stories in Wool. Her designs are fantastic and I loved knitting both of these. They are both knit in yarn from our mill. We spin a woollen-spun non-superwash yarn and the fabric it creates is lofty, light and warm.

First up is the Vaddel Neckerchief in the colourways from our Earth Collection. This project is the perfect size to keep the chill off without the bulk of a large shall.

Second is the Skelf vest. I used this a fun stash buster and a great way to play with colour. Knitting with 3 strands of fi*****ng weight 4ply yarn held together, this vest knits up quickly!

There are so many other great patterns in this book! I can’t wait to knit more of them. And they will all look great in our yarn. The book will be available later this month!

My Marshland sweater is finished! And I absolutely love it! I really enjoy all of the patterns from Alexa and Emily at Tin Can Knits and this one didn’t disappoint. Easy to follow and size inclusive, this pattern is great for kids and grownups.

I used every colour from our Fae Collection, with Forest Fae as the Main Colour. I opted to leave off the colourwork at the cuffs and hem.

Our non-superwash, woolen spun yarn is perfect for colour work and the fabric is lofty and warm without the weight. We will have this yarn - and lots of wool top and blends - at the Hand Weaver Spinner Guild NSW Spring Artisan Market next Saturday (29 August) at Brush Farm, Eastwood.

Fit check on my Marshland sweater. Pattern by Alexa and Emily that I am knitting up in DK/8ply in all of the colourways from our Fae Collection, with our Forest Fae as the main colour. I am so pleased with how it is coming together.

Paul is working hard to get all of the yarns in the Fae Collection spun and restocked. Some are available now and the rest should be back in stock soon-ish 😉

Looking forward to to this event in Sydney later this month!
