Tarndwarncoort Homestead 1840 Homestead with Wool Shop, Accommodation and Foundation flock of Polwarth sheep.

One of Australia's oldest surviving homesteads in the scenic Otway Hinterland. Today, Tarndwarncoort is home to our farmgate woolshop, heritage accommodation and provides a venue for events, filming and retreats.

Do you knit in public?

Worldwide Knit in Public Day is coming up on Saturday 13 June.

We've rounded up 3 ways you can join the movement locally!

1. Country pub knitting at Farmers Arms Hotel Beeac. Book in to make sure there's a seat for lunch in the lounge, or pull up a stool and knit in the bar. (Baaa?) Saturday 13 June. 11:30am to 3:00pm.

2. Try your hand and see what all the knitting fuss is about. There's a Learn to Knit Workshop for Adults at our favourite Wool Museum in Geelong on 13 June.

3. Make it a weekend. Crafty Sundays is the next day from midday to 3pm right here at Tarndie. Bring your project and your lunch and we'll provide the setting and the new baby lambs!

An invitation to the Geelong Handspinners & Weavers Guild during the week was a chance to see some Tarndie wool out in the wild.

Sarah has been natural dyeing at Tarndie for a year and showed the group how she'd made the various coloured samples into a vest.

Fiona blended and spun our cream and dark grey tops for a naturalistic jumper.

The Guild meets every Tuesday in Highton and smoko includes party pies!
