Three hours, six variants… and, briefly, two photos.
I’m not a pro photographer, so it takes me a while — lots of do-overs to get the angle, the glow, the little details right. I finally got the shots I wanted, took the card home to edit… and the card corrupted mid-transfer. Two images made it; the rest vanished. Data recovery: no luck. Mild despair: yes.

The next morning, I bought a new (not-so-cheap) card, went back, and reshot the lot. Not quite another 3 hours, but almost. They have now all been edited, and I’m delighted with the results — 6 new Knuckle Wall Light variants launching very soon...

PSA from the workbench: In my experience, a budget microSD from Kogan failed me at the worst moment. Yours may vary, but I won’t skimp on cards again. Test them, back up as you go, but use a good-quality one, and keep a spare in the bag.

Now that the cold weather is upon us in Melbourne, we have decided to chase the heat and head overseas for a quick break to recharge.

Due to current demand, coupled with the lead time required to build certain products, any Wood Beam Lights ordered from today will not commence manufacture until our return on June 20th, and will be built on a first-come-first-served basis.

Off-the-shelf, in-stock items will still ship right up until we leave on June 6th. Last day of business will be June 5th. Any orders received whilst we are on leave will be manufactured upon our return, and shipped as quickly as possible. Regular lead times still apply.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me to discuss your needs, and we will work with you to ensure we can get our products to you as soon as reasonably possible.

So, here’s a little bit of a to a desk lamp I made around a decade ago. On a recent trip to the wonderful I noticed two components built onto the side of some brewing equipment that were incredibly reminiscent of this desk lamp that I made from a found component. I picked the part up in a vintage store in but never knew what its original use was. It just looked cool and I could see that it would lend itself to an awesome desk lamp. So I built it, sold it, forgot about it and moved on. But this visit to Banks triggered a memory and I wonder if the original part was actually some old brewing equipment? Any brewers out there have any idea or - are you able to tell me what those wonderful contraptions are on the side of the tank?! - answers on a postcard please!

Back in January, we gave you a heads-up that a price increase was coming—and that time has now arrived. Due to rising material costs, we’ll be adjusting prices on our wood beam pendant lights and a few other products this weekend.

This is our first price change in over three years, and we’ve held off as long as possible to keep our products affordable. If you’ve had your eye on something, now’s the time to lock in the current pricing before the increase kicks in!
