CHARLES AVE: Blue Bedroom. A different colour, a different mood.

Our clients' instructions for the brief of the home was to give each bedroom its own colour identity, creating a unique experience as you move throughout the home.

For this bedroom, Birdblack immersed the space in rich, moody blues, layering tonal textures, intricate detailing and luxurious fabrics to create a cocoon-like retreat.

The deep blue palette is beautifully contrasted by the lush greenery beyond, bringing a sense of calm and connection to nature.

A little dramatic, a little unexpected, and entirely its own.

CHARLES AVE: The Great Outdoors: the garden becomes an extension of the home, and nature takes centre stage.

Framed by the breathtaking coastal outlook of the South Coast, the landscaping at Charles Ave is a beautiful balance of structure, softness and a little whimsy.

Sweeping circular lawns, meandering cobblestone pathways and sculptural garden elements create a sense of discovery, while lush greenery, clipped hedges and vibrant purple blooms bring layers of texture and colour.

Thoughtful details, from the curved stone seating to the playful garden sculptures and illuminated spheres, give this outdoor sanctuary its own distinct personality. As the sun sets, the garden transforms into an enchanting landscape of soft, ambient light.

A garden designed not simply to be admired, but to be experienced. Every element celebrates the connection between the home, its landscape and the extraordinary natural beauty beyond.

More than just Interior Design!

CHARLES AVE: Kitchen and Dining. The Kitchen presented a unique challenge. Its custom hand-painted striped finish, executed in varying gloss levels, required considerable testing and refinement to ensure the subtle contrast was both elegant and intentional. The result is a finish that reveals itself gradually as the light shifts throughout the day.

It's alllll in the details! 😍

CHARLES AVE: Internal Courtyard. A beautiful example of how thoughtful design can completely transform the way a space looks, feels and functions.

The original timber decking has been replaced with a checkerboard arrangement of soft grey and warm off-white paving. The pattern introduces a timeless European character, visually expanding the courtyard and giving it a stronger architectural identity.

A statement stone dining table, delicate black metal chairs and playful styling complete the transformation.

Once simply a space to pass through, this courtyard is now somewhere to slow down, entertain and enjoy.

CHARLES AVE: Living Room. Whimsical, a little eccentric, and full of personality, because sometimes a home should feel just a little bit magical.

Golden leather, candy-striped upholstery, fantastical forest walls and unexpected sculptural pieces create a room that feels like it’s wandered straight from the pages of a storybook.

A little slice of wonderland, where colour, pattern and playfulness come out to play. 🍄✨
