The shop was established in 2011. Since then it has contributed to the vibrancy and energy of South Fremantle. Banjarra Tribals stocks many items sourced from around the world. While the shop features many home-wares, jewelry and other textiles, it’s main focus is traditional Afghani rugs and kilims as well as modern hand-made designs. Come and discover something to take home and treasure.

Banjarra Tribal Rugs is a proudly Western Australian family business selling wool rugs and kilms from Northwest Afghanistan.
The business is run by Najeeb, who for the past 25 years has personally sourced his products from remote regions, which are home to the Turkman and Baluch tribal people. He has a passion for quality and authenticity; as well as sharing the history of the product, where it came from and how it was made. Najeeb is full of knowledge, and is passionate about the traditional art of rug making. He has developed a close relationship with the local craftsmen and craftswomen he buys from and he supports these traditional artisans by buying their goods at a fair price.
