What a lovely weekend! A knee injury meant I needed lots of help! My eldest son Jack has come to assist me with driving and carrying things. I had to get Jack & Michael to pack the car & Jack to drive my car to Gulgong, while Michael stayed home to feed the animals and man the shop. We had a quick look at the Henry Lawson festival, didn’t see it all but managed to see the parade. We had a family dinner to celebrate an upcoming special birthday. Then it was Aunty Liz’s turn to drive my car to Rylstone. It was a beautiful day and I met lots of wonderful new people and saw some familiar faces too. A huge thank you to my helpers, I really couldn’t have done it without the help of Liz, Jules and Jack. They were my muscles and my legs with lifting and setting up and packing up and Liz excelled in being my sales woman!! Liz & Jules were in heaven with all of the yarn and fibre in one room!! Thank you to the organisers and to everyone who visited our stall.

We are heading to the beautiful historic town of Rylstone this Sunday to be a part of the Rylstone Wool & Fibre Muster. We will be bringing along some yarn, combed tops, cloud wool, raw fleece wool and our Waverley products. I’m looking forward to having my new helpers come along who are yarn and fibre fanatics as well!! Don’t worry, for those who can’t come, our shop in Yass will still be open Friday 9am - 4pm Saturday 9am - 2 pm and Sunday 10am to 2pm. Stay tuned for our next workshops soon to be released, we have a special surprise for our Yass and surrounds people with our Crochet workshop at the end of June and our drop spindle workshop in early July. Details to be released very soon!!

Our first ever workshop! Thank you to the lovely ladies who joined us to Learn to Spin with Sue. It was an enjoyable day with lots of spinning, tea, coffee, cake, brownies, bikkies and muffins! The ladies learned some new skills and went home with approx 50g of our unique 1st x Comeback wool hand spun by them! A big thank you to Sue (and husband Colin) who travelled from Young with her spinning wheels and equipment to teach the workshop. Stay tuned for our next workshop!

Brown is back!! After selling out of my browns I’ve restocked! Straight from the dyebath and line to the shop now ready and waiting for your needles and hooks!! I also have some combed tops in the dying and drying process as well! I’m excited to show some clever creations made by some of our customers, one a crocheted beanie, the other got crafty with her carder and added our 1st x Comeback combed tops with some roving she purchased elsewhere to create a unique batt ready to hand spin! And lastly a sneak peak of our cake and cupcake range! Ready to take home and use in various sizes. We will have the 100g cakes and various weights in cupcakes! I’m naming them cupcakes after a chat with a customer this morning and I mentioned that I was deciding whether to do mini cakes or mini skeins and how I’d do them. She suggested I do little cakes and call them cupcakes! I loved it so much that I’m going with it!! Thank you Jess for the suggestion!! There will be various colours and weights available soon😊
