This project has hit a few bumps along the journey but that is the reality of renovating.

The team and client worked together to problem solve and things are back on track.

The transformation is going to be amazing with the entire space opened up, allowing more light and openness.

Mokine Road Project.

This kitchen was designed to be the hub of this home for quiet family time and regular entertaining.

Beautiful soft green cabinetry paired with warm engineered stone bench tops in warm tones. Storage was maximised with a scullery to do the heavy lifting when entertaining. The generous island allows the owners to prep meals, enjoy drinks with friends whilst at the same time being able to take in the beautiful views of the landscape through large sections of glazing.

A space to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Our new patio frame is up finally!

Now to select a creeper to grow over it to provide shade and cool the east facing glazing of the master bedroom.

These are the ideas I have narrowed down for planting:

đŸŒ± Hardenbergia
đŸŒ± Coral vine
đŸŒ± Native jasmine

I would love to hear what others have used here in WA or those in locations where the environment experience’s hot summers and cold winters.

Have you ever reflected on the similarities of style when it comes to your home and your wardrobe??

I bet you haven’t.

This morning whilst getting ready for a meeting I did just that.

My wardrobe is what I would call simple and little fuss, clean in colour (think navy, white, pink, green) and natural fabrics like wool, cotton and denim. I go for quality over quantity with an unexpected piece thrown in at times. I don’t do a lot of pattern but I am trying, hence recent purchase of my leopard print sneakers 😁 pictured below 👇 . Pattern scares me, I have no idea how to work with it 🙈

In this reflection I realised that my wardrobe style reflects exactly the interior style of my home. You’ll find clean colours, green, navy, natural materials timber and leather with no pattern at all but my aim is to change this bringing in some pattern in soft furnishings and bed linen.

So if you can pull off a killer outfit but struggle with your interior maybe reflect on your wardrobe as it could be your starting point for ideas for your home.

Collecting Art is my guilty pleasure.

Finding new artists to follow and hopefully collect is also a favorite past time.

I collect because something in the piece reminds me of a feeling, a place or acting as a memory jogger of a time past or enabling me to look forward.

I collect to support new talent who I connect with in their ethos and creative style.

These little pieces by Rebecca Marwick remind me of the 2 distinct seasons we have in the wheatbelt which expose the earth and rich colour in summer to the greens and dusk pink sky’s of winter.

Framed and hanging with some of my other pieces collected over the years.

As a side note I ordered these frames and hanging kits from Framefox | Framed Prints & Custom Framing. I highly recommend if you can’t get to a framer locally.

Mokine Rd Project.

My clients wanted the home to have a strong sense of warmth and hospitality for when hosting family and friends.

So guest rooms where never an after thought, access to a view (landscaping still to come), space to spread out and ample storage for guests on longer visits.

A gentle neutral colour palette has been used through out the home allowing the owner to curate their furnishings and art collection in their own way.

Natural light (with amazing views) combined with textures and colours that reflect the beauty of the natural environment of this farm tucked into the rolling hills of the Avon Valley.

A master bedroom they can't wait to retreat too.

Art should speak to you or evoke a feeling maybe push a memory to the front of your mind.

This sweet little piece by , which I found at the recent Beverley Art Prize has found a place in my home. The colours used are pure magic to depict the beautiful south coast bush and beaches.
