মহেশ ১: গফুর ও নীরব ক্ষুধা (রূপক অভিব্যক্তিবাদী অঙ্কন)

বাংলা সাহিত্যের কালজয়ী কথাসাহিত্যিক শরৎচন্দ্র চট্টোপাধ্যায়-এর অমর ছোটগল্প ‘মহেশ’ থেকে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে আঁকা এই চিত্রকর্মে গফুর এবং তার প্রিয় বলদ মহেশের গভীর মানবিক সম্পর্ককে সমকালীন ভিজ্যুয়াল ভাষায় র্নির্মাণ করা হয়েছে।

চিত্রটিতে ভাঙা-গড়া জ্যামিতিক গঠন, দৃঢ় রেখা এবং সংযত রঙের ব্যবহার একধরনের অন্তর্দ্বন্দ্ব ও নীরব যন্ত্রণার অনুভূতি তৈরি করে। গফুরের মুখাবয়বে ক্লান্তি ও নিরুপায়তার ছাপ যেমন স্পষ্ট, তেমনি মহেশের উপস্থিতি হয়ে ওঠে সহমর্মিতা ও নির্ভরতার প্রতীক।

গ্রামীণ জীবনের দারিদ্র্য, ক্ষুধা এবং বেঁচে থাকার সংগ্রাম—এই সবকিছুকে আমি আধুনিক এক্সপ্রেশনিস্ট দৃষ্টিভঙ্গিতে উপস্থাপন করার চেষ্টা করেছি। যান্ত্রিক ফর্ম ও মানবিক আবেগের সংমিশ্রণ এই কাজটিকে শুধু একটি গল্পচিত্র নয়, বরং সময়, সমাজ এবং অস্তিত্বের গভীর প্রতিফলন হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠা করে।

এই কাজটি দর্শককে প্রশ্ন করতে বাধ্য করে—মানবতা, সহানুভূতি এবং টিকে থাকার লড়াইয়ের সীমা কোথায়?

Title: Mahesh 1 - Gafur and the Silent Hunger (Figurative Expressionist Drawing)

Inspired by the immortal short story ‘Mahesh’ by the legendary Bengali writer Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, this painting depicts the deep human relationship between Gafur and his beloved bull Mahesh in a contemporary visual language.

The use of broken geometric structures, strong lines, and restrained colors in the painting creates a sense of inner conflict and silent pain. Just as the look of fatigue and helplessness on Gafur’s face is clear, Mahesh’s presence becomes a symbol of compassion and dependence.

I have tried to present the poverty, hunger, and struggle for survival of rural life—all these from a modern expressionist perspective. The combination of mechanical form and human emotion establishes this work as not just a story, but a profound reflection of time, society, and existence.

This work forces the viewer to ask—where are the limits of humanity, compassion, and the struggle for survival?
