"Pot & Plants" part 20
Experiments with plants/soft landscape.
This is an experimental approach to plant propagation through water culture. Several insects and plant cuttings have been placed inside several test tubes filled with water, allowing their stems, nodes, and developing roots to remain clearly visible.
The main purpose of the setup appears to be observing how plants develop roots from their submerged nodes. Because the containers are transparent, the normally hidden process of root formation becomes visible. This makes the arrangement useful not only for propagation but also as a simple botanical experiment. The plants are positioned so that their leaves remain above the water while the lower portions of their stems stay submerged. Over time, roots emerge from the nodes and extend into the water. Lighting plays an important role in the visual character of the installation. The light placed beneath the transparent containers illuminates the water, stems, and roots, creating a striking contrast between the bright botanical structure and the dark background.
It can also be viewed as a bridge between botanical science and interior design. Instead of hiding the biological process inside soil, the system deliberately exposes it, allowing people to observe plant growth as an evolving piece of living art.
