On September 10, 2026, CORR-The Jute Works (CJW) organized a special memorial service at its office premises to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the passing of its Life Trustee and one of its core founders, Reverend Fr. Richard William Timm CSC. All employees of the organization gathered in prayer to seek eternal peace for his soul and to remember his remarkable contributions to society and to the mission of CJW with deep gratitude and respect.
The memorial service started with welcoming words to the guests and staff by the Deputy Director, Mr. Uzzal Theotonious Corraya and the program included placing a garland on the portrait of Reverend Fr. Richard William Timm CSC, lighting candles, offering prayers, and singing songs in his memory. Employees also shared heartfelt reflections on his selfless and dedicated service in the fields of education, development, and human rights. Particular emphasis was given to his significant contribution to supporting distressed and abandoned women artisans in Bangladesh and to promoting social justice, dignity, and improved livelihoods for artisans and people living in poverty.
Reverend Fr. Stanislaus Gomes, Chaplain of Caritas Bangladesh, attended the memorial service as a special guest. Ms. Bertha Gity Baroi, former Director of CORR-The Jute Works, also attended and shared her experiences and memories with Reverend Fr. Richard William Timm CSC.
The gathering concluded with heartfelt remarks from Ms. Rita Roselin Costa, Director of CORR-The Jute Works, who expressed appreciation for his enduring legacy and the inspiration he continues to provide to the organization and the communities it serves.
