KISANY is a truly exceptional social women’s project providing training, work and stability to more than a thousand people and creating supportive artisan communities across East Africa. KISANY has meticulously trained more than 100 vulnerable women as professional embroiders, tailors and weavers in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Kenya. All of these women are at risk, many have been

victims of war torture, forced migration, starvation and sexual violence. Working with KISANY allows them to escape an un-certain and dangerous existence, provide food and a home for their families and send their children to school.

For this limited edition, our Goma workshop has joined forces with the Keiskamma Art Project in South Africa, which supports and employs primarily women from rural communities.
This collaboration has given life to an exclusive series of 100% linen cushions: crafted in Goma, they are then hand-embroidered by the artisans of Keiskamma, who bring magnificent colourful African birds to life in their distinctive artistic style. 🦜

Behind every leaf and every plant lies hours of meticulous craftsmanship. Before the embroidery even begins, the fabric is carefully cut and each design is hand-transferred onto the linen. In our workshops in Goma and Kigali, our embroiderers then bring this lush vegetation to life, one stitch at a time.
