A Space Is Never Made of Objects Alone

How materials, light, and functionality transform architecture into an everyday experience.

We experience it through the coolness of stone beneath our hands, the warmth of wood, the movement of daylight across a wall and the effortless way a room supports our daily rituals. Often, the qualities that make an interior truly successful are not the ones that immediately attract attention. They are the ones we continue to feel long after the first impression.

La funzionalità è uno dei principi fondamentali su cui costruiamo ogni nostro progetto.

Per noi un buon interior design non si misura solo dalla sua bellezza estetica, ma soprattutto dalla capacità dello spazio di adattarsi alle esigenze di chi lo vive ogni giorno.

Fin dalle prime fasi della progettazione analizziamo lo stile di vita, le abitudini e le necessità del cliente. In questo modo, ogni ambiente, ogni arredo e ogni dettaglio sono studiati con uno scopo preciso, creando spazi armoniosi, pratici e confortevoli.

The renewal of the statues and decorative figures of the Duomo di Milano is a continuous process carried out by the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo, the institution responsible for maintaining the cathedral since 1387. Because the cathedral is exposed to weather and pollution, restoration is an ongoing cycle rather than a one-time project.

The Duomo contains more than 3,400 statues, thousands of decorative elements, and over 130 spires. Since marble continuously weathers, restoration never truly ends—by the time one section is completed, another requires attention. This is why the Duomo is often described as a cathedral that is "always under restoration."

Dalla montagna al Duomo: il viaggio del marmo.

Oggi abbiamo avuto l'opportunità di visitare la cava di Candoglia, il luogo da cui, da oltre 630 anni, viene estratto il celebre marmo rosa utilizzato per il Duomo di Milano.

Già nel 1387, anno in cui ebbe inizio la costruzione della cattedrale, fu deciso di realizzarla con questo marmo unico. Ancora oggi, tutto il materiale destinato ai restauri proviene esclusivamente da questa cava, per preservare l'autenticità di uno dei più straordinari capolavori dell'architettura gotica.

Nelle foto si possono vedere: 🪨 la cava e gli enormi blocchi di marmo; 🗺️ una mappa in rilievo dell'area di Candoglia; 🏛️ un bassorilievo che racconta la storia della costruzione del Duomo e dell'inizio dell'estrazione del marmo.

È davvero emozionante pensare che ogni statua, ogni colonna e ogni dettaglio della facciata del Duomo abbia avuto origine proprio qui, tra le rocce di questa cava.

A volte i più grandi capolavori iniziano semplicemente da un blocco di pietra grezza.
