May was heavy for me in ways people probably didn’t see. Planning my first candle making event was exciting, but it also brought out so much stress and pressure I didn’t realize I was carrying. I overwhelmed myself, made myself anxious, barely ate, and spent so much time worrying if everything would go right. At 34, I’m finally realizing just how hard I can be on myself. But I’m sure we are all that way when we want something to go right.
When tickets weren’t selling the way I hoped, I felt discouraged. I think I also expected support and love from certain people because I’ve always tried to show up for others. That part hurt more than I expected. But through all of that, the people who truly wanted to be there showed up for me — and that’s what mattered most.
My mom was incredible through it all. She made all the snacks and supported me every step of the way. My family and friends came through, and I’m so grateful for every single person who attended and supported my very first workshop.
What really stuck with me was my Grandma and how much she enjoyed the experience. How creative my neice was with making her candle. 2 lovely ladies who came all the way from Cambridge. How amazing my mom is and Every smile that entered the room.
At the end of the day, I’m proud of myself. Proud that I pushed through the anxiety, the sadness, the self-doubt, and still created something beautiful. My first Wick & Sip happened, and despite everything I felt internally, it turned out to be a special day I’ll treasure forever.💛✨
If you missed this one don’t worry there will be a next!
