Jeanniesbeads Lampwork art beads Glass lampwork beadsare created by using a torch to melt glass onto a steel mandrel (which serves as a hole for the bead).

The designs are created by melting and layering a variety of glass colours and textures. Each dot or swirl you see on a bead has been added one at a time. Depending on the complexity of a bead, it could take anywere from 5 minutes to over an hour to create.
