🐾 A little something close to my heart… 🐾

Since losing my soul dog, Bruno, I’ve really struggled with the quiet at home and missing that special Chihuahua love. ❤️

That’s part of why I became a foster mom with Tinky Chihuahua Rescue. These little dogs often come from very difficult situations, and they deserve so much love, care and a chance at a happy forever home. 🐶❤️

Tomorrow I’ll be out with Your Mom’s Knots at the Paul Sadlon Zucchini Contest, 550 Bayfield St., Barrie, from 10–4! 🥒

I’ll have a donation jar at my booth for Tinky, and I’m also going to donate a portion of my sales tomorrow to the rescue.

Delilah Needs Us — And So Do The Others 🩷
Our sweet Delilah is still needing some help with her ongoing veterinary care😥
Her care has involved repeated bloodwork to monitor her red blood cell levels. Each recheck is approximately $40, in addition to the original full blood panel. These ongoing tests are necessary so that we can safely determine what is happening with her and make the right decisions about her treatment moving forward.
But Delilah isn't the only little one in our care who needs veterinary attention right now.
Moe has recently had his senior bloodwork done and still has his dental surgery and neuter ahead of him. Charlie is having his vet day and thats coming up on the 21st. And, of course, there are the ongoing examination and monitoring costs for Delilah.
We are at a point where several of our dogs have veterinary needs happening at the same time, and the expenses are adding up quickly.
Our plan has always been to make sure every dog receives the care they need, one step at a time, and we are doing exactly that. But veterinary care doesn't always come in predictable amounts or at convenient times❤️
Before Delilah can move forward with her upcoming procedures, we still need to raise over $400 for her next steps alone to avoid putting our rescue into any debt. And when we look at Moe, Charlie, upcoming surgeries, diagnostic testing and everything else currently on our veterinary list, we know we have several thousand dollars in vet expenses ahead of us.

We don't share this to ask for sympathy — we share it because this is what rescue looks like sometimes. These little dogs depend on us to advocate for them, get the answers they need and make sure they receive proper medical care.
If you are able to contribute toward Delilah's care, even $5, $10 or $20 makes a difference. And if you aren't able to donate, sharing her post is just as appreciated. 🫶

Losing my Bruno, my beloved Chihuahua, has been devastating. While grieving, I missed having a little baby beside me and all the unconditional love that Chihuahuas bring.

After some time, I decided to become a foster mom with Tinky Chihuahua Rescue, and I’m so grateful I did. Kristen, who runs the rescue, is an incredibly caring woman who pours her heart into saving these sweet dogs, many of whom have been neglected or abused, and finding them loving forever homes.

My first foster was a tiny, three-pound little girl who had been abused and was understandably very scared. Watching her slowly learn to trust and feel safe was incredibly rewarding. ❤️

There are so many Chihuahuas in need, and rescues like Tinky depend on donations to help with their care.

It’s been a long winter, but I’ve been busy knotting away 🧶
