A small Ontario community is showing what Thanksgiving is really about.
The Sharing Place Food Centre in Orillia is preparing to serve approximately 1,500 free Thanksgiving meals on Saturday, October 10.
The meals will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 95 Dufferin Street. No registration is needed, and everyone is welcome.
Volunteers have been working to make the gathering possible, with a traditional meal that includes chicken, potatoes, stuffing, vegetables and cranberry sauce.
For some families, Thanksgiving can be a difficult time. A warm meal and a welcoming community can make a real difference.
Isn't it wonderful to see Canadians helping their neighbours this way?
