There are a few lawn care truths we’ll never stop talking about.🌱

After generations of caring for lawns, we’ve learned that the little things really do add up.

Mowing too short can do more harm than good. Brown patches are not always a watering problem. Aeration deserves a spot in your yearly routine. Fall lawn care matters. And keeping mosquitoes under control can make your backyard a whole lot more enjoyable.

Great lawns come down to giving them the right care at the right time, and we’re here to help along the way.

A little August check in from our crew. 🌱

First, we want to say a big thank you to all of our customers who continue to trust us season after season. We’re so grateful to care for lawns across Barrie and Collingwood and to be part of the communities we serve. 💚

As we head into the second half of August, we’re excited for what’s ahead. Late summer and early fall are an important time for lawn care, with services like aeration and overseeding helping support your grass after a long, hot summer and prepare it for the months ahead.

Summer’s not over yet, and neither is lawn care season. 🌱

Your lawn has worked hard this summer. Now it’s time to give it what it needs next. 🌱

Late summer into fall is one of the best times to aerate your lawn. Over time, soil can become compacted, making it harder for water, air, and nutrients to reach the roots.

Core aeration helps open up the soil and gives your lawn the opportunity to grow stronger and healthier.

And while you’re at it, add some seed! Overseeding after aeration helps thicken your lawn, fill in thin areas, and leave less room for w**ds to take over.

For most lawns, aeration should be part of your annual late summer or fall lawn care routine.

🌱 Stronger roots
🌱 Better water and nutrient absorption
🌱 Thicker, healthier turf
🌱 Less room for w**ds

Ready to get your lawn set up for a strong fall? Give us a call or send us a DM to book your aeration and overseeding.

Do you hear that? 👂 It’s the sound of your lawn begging you to stop mowing during the hottest part of the day. 😂🌱

We may be getting closer to the end of summer, but the heat isn’t done yet. After weeks of hot, dry weather, your lawn can already be under stress, and mowing at the wrong time can add even more.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

🌱 Avoid mowing during the hottest part of the day. Stick to cooler times and keep your mower at a higher setting.

🌱 Don’t mow if you don’t need to. Giving your grass more time between cuts can help avoid unnecessary stress.

💧 Keep up with watering. Water deeply to help moisture reach the roots and support your lawn through hot, dry conditions.

There are still a few weeks of summer left, so don’t give up on your lawn care routine just yet!

If birds, skunks, or raccoons have suddenly taken an interest in your lawn, grubs could be the reason.

Grubs are common lawn pests that feed on the roots of your grass from below the surface, leaving your lawn weak and vulnerable to damage.

Signs of a grub infestation can include:
🪱 Brown or thinning patches that don’t bounce back
🦝 Birds, skunks, or raccoons digging up your lawn
🌱 Grass that pulls up easily because the roots have been eaten

The good news? Catching grubs early can help prevent more extensive damage and get your lawn back on track.

No need to keep smiling through the pain. 😅 With our grub control expertise, we’ll help protect your lawn so you can say goodbye to grubs and hello to a healthier, greener yard.

If your lawn looks like this it might not be what you think… 👀

Brown, dry-looking patches don’t always mean your lawn needs more water. In some cases, the culprit could be chinch bugs.

These tiny insects feed on grass blades, causing damage that often looks just like drought stress. The result? Yellow or brown patches that continue to spread, even if you’re watering regularly.

If left untreated, chinch bugs can quickly damage large areas of your lawn during the heat of summer.

If your lawn isn’t bouncing back, it may be time for a closer look.

Give us a call or send us a DM to book a lawn inspection and we’ll help determine what’s really going on. 🌱

Your backyard should be where you unwind, not where your to-do list gets longer.

Between w**ds popping up, mosquitoes making evenings miserable, dry patches showing up, the risk of ticks, and trying to stay on top of mowing and watering, lawn care can quickly become another chore.

That’s why we’re here.

Whether you need help with w**ds, lawn health, mosquitoes, or seasonal pest protection, our team can help take the stress out of keeping your yard looking its best.

Spend less time worrying about your lawn and more time enjoying it.
