I am really overdue to make the official announcement that I have SOLD my Lo & Behold store building and concession. I have been extremely busy getting the buildings and storages cleaned out ..I’ve felt like an old pack horse for the last couple of months, but there was just soooo much stock and I had to deal with the cold storages before it was REALLY cold.
Anyway, I have shed a few tears because it was like the end of an era for me. I was there for over 14 years and I am really going to miss my store, because I loved what I did. I have had so many kind comments that others will miss it too, which I really appreciate. That store was like home to me. I actually helped my mother do books for the Co-op in the same building way back when I was a teenager.
I want to say a HUGE thank you to all my fantastic customers! So many people that truly knew that they could get a better deal locally than driving all the way to the city to pay more for the same quality items.
But I have to admit that the really FUN stuff for me was the art pieces and really unusual things that you couldn’t find anywhere else. Everything from an $8000.00 eight foot tall handcarved horse statue to a 1700’s painting where the frame alone was appraised at over $1000.00. Does anyone remember my 10 foot tall jesterette that stood outside my store or the actual suit of armour that stood just inside the door? Antiques from all over the world and my genuine Woolly Mammoth tusk with a carving on the tusk of the animal done by an indiginous artist from NWT? And it brought me so much joy to see so many happy couples or excited young men purchase their engagement and wedding rings.
I also want to reassure the people that bought appliances from me within the last year that your warranty is still good. All you have to do is call me at 780 213 4356 and I will take care of it.
Now that the dust has settled a bit I could also get appliances, new mattresses and furniture if you let me know what you are looking for as I still have all of my wholesalers available to me.
I also want to thank all of my employees and wholesalers for all their hard work and help! Hats off to my family and husband for putting up with me. The challenge of running your own business means you don’t see your family on Sundays or any other because you’re either restocking, delivering to customers or bookkeeping even when you are not open for business.
Last but not least I wish the best of luck to the new owners, Scott & Shelby Kiteley!!
