Frank Drinkwater from Muskoka Wood Bowls has been spinning bowls on his lathe since 2019. Believing there’s a missed opportunity in the local marketplace for large solid wood salad bowls his work ranges from 6-inch diameter “pinch” bowls up to 30-inch ”Monster Salad Bowls”
Frank has also found that “less than perfect” pieces of timber could be embellished with epoxy resin and turned on the lathe to produce one-of-a-kind artistic pieces and now dedicates a large portion of shop time to create combinations of hybrid wood and resin bowls made from burls, fruit woods and hardwoods sourced from across Ontario with high quality Canadian made resins that are custom coloured to enhance and beautify the wood.
Originally from Cayuga Ontario, Frank has been living full time in Muskoka since 1977. Now working full-time from his home-based shop in Bracebridge, Frank creates pieces all year long and offers them for sale to the public at Farmers Markets, art shows, and galleries across Muskoka during the summer months. 🪵🪵🪵
