Tonight’s group of volunteers joined us from Rotary Club of Brantford Sunrise. This cheerful group really understand the verb “service”, and have been serving Brantford in many ways for a long time. In fact, this Club purchased the new double convection ovens (over $10,000.) for the Blessing Centre. A tremendously helpful donation that makes what we do possible. A great big thanks to their generosity.
Chicken pot pie was on the menu tonight, including a side of cauliflower. This put smiles on a lot of faces and our guests were so appreciative.
Hope begins with a hot meal.

Friday night we welcomed the Brantford Regional Real Estate Association to come serve our guests.
This was a lively crew, who really stepped up and were all hands in. It was a leftover night and a chance to make some more room in our fridges. I saw a large tray of Black Forest ham, and lots more being heated up in our new double convection oven. Every shelf had something warming up.
We love to see Brantford businesses stepping up to serve those needing a hand up. Look and see if you recognize your local real estate agents.

The Blessing Centre is a special place. Mainly because of the wonderful volunteers.
Tonight’s meal was a great example of Brantford coming together to care for others.
The student chefs from Tollgate Culinary School planned, put together, cooked and delivered the meal to the Centre today.
The crew from Generations Church Brantford came in, portioned, packaged, and served to meal to our hungry friends. .
Supper was a great hit.
A Mexican Casserole (potato, corn, chicken and even pepperoni (plus any other left overs in the fridges, I’m sure)), with a side of sliced raw carrots.
Full of flavour, healthy, and served with love.
Many hands helping.
Hope begins with a hot meal.

We’re really excited about the team of volunteers in today. This eclectic group weren’t from any particular church, but were friends, neighbors, work associates, husband and wives, brother and sister, and individuals from churches not associated with the Centre. Good people that just want to make a difference in our city. Kindness and generosity go a long way in making Brantford special.
Tonight’s meal was a grilled cheese sandwich (using sourdough bread which makes the best grilled cheese) and a bowl of homemade tomato soup. All made with love and a smile.
The last picture is the crew for the grocery table. There’s always something extra to take home for later.

Another really busy night at the Centre.
Over 200 meals served to a line up that kept coming and coming.
But, it was worth the visit. Tonight’s meal was a curried chicken on a bed of rice, with a side of steamed mixed vegetables. For dessert, a fresh cinnamon bun smothered in icing.
We are thankful for the faithfulness of Evangel Church, one of our original church partners. They cheerfully serve a home style meal every Monday, year round.
Hope begins with a hot meal.
