When seed bombs contain suitable, non-invasive plants and are placed responsibly, they can be a creative way to introduce people to gardening and start conversations about habitat conservation. Choosing locally appropriate native plants is especially valuable because they can provide food and shelter for butterflies, native bees, moths, and other wildlife.

Seed bombs should never be scattered on private property, protected natural areas, parks, roadsides, or other land without permission. Planting thoughtfully is an important part of protecting the ecosystems we hope to support.

🌸📚 THE SURPRISE HAS BEEN REVEALED! 📚🌸

Big news is blooming for Blooms & Buzz!

Not only are we expanding to a beautiful new location at Big B Flower Farm in Paris, Ontario but a special handcrafted creation will soon be arriving on their shelves:

🌼 Pressed Flower Bookmarks! 🌼

Grown among the colourful fields of Big B Flower Farm, these flowers are carefully pressed, preserved and arranged by hand to create something beautiful and useful. Each bookmark captures a small piece of the flower field, allowing its beauty to live on between the pages of a favourite book.

Because every flower grows differently, each bookmark will have its own unique combination of shapes, colours and natural details—meaning no two creations will be exactly alike!

🌿 A Little Pressed-Flower Education

Pressing flowers is a traditional way of preserving their natural beauty. By gently removing moisture while keeping the flower flattened, many blossoms can retain their recognizable shapes and colours for years when properly protected.

Pressed-flower art is also a wonderful reminder of the connection between flowers, pollinators and people. Flower-rich spaces provide food and shelter for butterflies, bees, moths and other beneficial insects. Something exciting is growing behind the scenes at Blooms & Buzz and tomorrow, the mystery will finally be revealed!

We are thrilled to announce that one of our most popular products will soon be available at another physical location through a wonderful small local business. Blooms & Buzz is not opening a second storefront of our own; instead, this new partnership will make it easier for more people in our community to discover and purchase one of our special offerings locally. 🛍️🌸

Small businesses can accomplish beautiful things when they support one another. Local partnerships help introduce handmade and meaningful products to new people, create stronger connections within the community, and give customers more opportunities to shop close to home.

🦋🌻 We’ve Been Busy Restocking! 🌻🐝

There’s been a little behind-the-scenes excitement happening at Blooms & Buzz! 💚✨

Yesterday we stopped by our Butterfly Project’s Booth located inside Walter’s Greenhouses & Garden Centre to do some restocking! 🛍️🌸 Our baskets were ready for a refill, so we brought in more goodies and made sure the booth was stocked and ready for everyone who stops by to explore.

But when we say “restocking,” it means so much more to us than simply filling up a booth. 🦋

Blooms & Buzz and our Butterfly Project are built around a love for nature, pollinators, conservation, education, creativity, and community. 🌎🌱🐝

Behind the things you see at our booth are ideas inspired by the natural world and a project with a much bigger purpose: helping people discover just how fascinating and important butterflies, moths, bees, native plants, and other pollinators truly are. 💚

Did you know that helping pollinators doesn’t always have to begin with a huge conservation project?

It can start with something as simple as planting a native flower. 🌸
Growing a caterpillar host plant. 🐛
Leaving a little habitat in your garden. 🌿
Learning about a butterfly you’ve never noticed before. 🦋
Sharing what you’ve learned with someone else. 📚
Or supporting a local conservation project working to make a difference. 💕

Small actions can grow into something much bigger. 🌱✨

And that’s one of the things I love most about this project. Every person who visits our booth, follows our adventures, shares our posts, purchases something, plants something for pollinators, or simply becomes curious about the natural world becomes another little part of the community we’re building. 🥰

🐾 Sometimes, They Just Know… ❤️

For the past several months, I’ve been dealing with pain in my right leg. It often feels incredibly heavy almost as though it weighs 50 pounds or more and the discomfort is especially noticeable around and above my knee.

I have already been to my doctor about this. After the symptoms first appeared, they eventually disappeared for several months, which was a huge relief. Unfortunately, they’ve recently started coming back again, so it’s something I’ll be following up on.

This morning, something happened that truly touched my heart.

Without being asked, my Golden Retriever, Cooper, came over, gently rested his head on my sore leg and stayed there for quite a while. Every time he looked up at me, it was with those gentle, caring eyes before settling his head right back down again.

Did Cooper know exactly what was wrong with my leg? We can’t say for certain.

But what we do know is that dogs are incredibly observant. They notice changes in our body language, posture, routines, facial expressions, behaviour, and even our scent. Research has shown that many dogs respond differently when someone they love is injured, stressed, or not feeling well.

Some dogs choose to stay closer.
Some become more gentle.
Some quietly offer comfort simply by being present.

Whether Cooper knew my leg was hurting or simply sensed that I wasn’t feeling like myself, his comforting presence reminded me of something truly special:

Animals don’t always need words to show compassion.

Their loyalty, empathy, and unconditional love can bring comfort during difficult moments. While a dog’s love isn’t a medical treatment, the warmth of their presence can help us feel calmer, feel supported, and remind us that we’re never truly alone.

Today, Cooper reminded me that healing isn’t always about medicine. Of course after Cooper was finished giving me weight therapy I gave him two delicious treats as a thank you, as well as a reward for doing a good deed.

Sometimes…
it’s about having someone who simply chooses to stay by your side. ❤️🐾
