I had a good maternity leave, I say “good” and not “great” because I didn’t take enough advantage of the opportunities to make mommy connections as I should but it was good because I got so much bonding time with my daughter. We did so much. I signed her up for Aqua-Tots, Gymbalaya, we did Little Messy Makers with EarlyON, with did Common Moms events, we did Movies for Mommies, and we did Baby Rhyme Time at the library, along with a lot of other mini adventures. I only got 10 months with my daughter before I had to go back to work and I work 2 part time jobs so there hasn’t been many opportunities or money (now having to pay for daycare) to do much activities with her so I feel like I’ve been missing out.
That’s why I have created Workin’ Moms. It’s an opportunity for working moms to do some activities with their little ones with the limited time that they have (evenings and weekends). I’m starting off by selling premade craft kits. Use your little one’s handprint and footprint to create artwork. Each kit will include: Washable Ink Pad (Craft Smart, acid-free, nontoxic), glue stick, 2 piece of cardstock paper, and the craft pieces to assemble your craft. Each month will feature 2 designs (usually a theme to match the month). The ink pad will be a set colour but if you would like any customizations on the craft pieces please let me know.
