*NEW ANIMAL*
Our next new animal is the BOW RIVER TROUT
I’ve wanted to add a fish to our animal collection for a while but I couldn’t choose a location. Once I chose the Bow River, I then had to figure out which view I wanted to use. This was a trickier one because I don’t fish but I’ve seen lots of fish in lots of different areas.
Then I came across a photo from Canmore that shows the nice curve in the Bow River looking back towards Banff.
THE STORY:
“The Bow River originating from Bow Glacier and Bow Lake, was named by local Indigenous Peoples after the reeds and saplings growing along its banks of the river that were used for hunting and fishing.
The river is home to wild Brown Trout, Rainbow, Bull and Brook Trout.
The waters are beautiful blue glacier fed colours during the summer and fall months and becomes pristinely clear during the winter and spring months.”
