I would love to have you follow along as my interior design business grows ❤️

This photo captures exactly what I love to do here at Santa Susana Design Studio.

The intent is to select materials and products to create a welcoming and eye catching space, but what I really love is incorporating pieces that tell a story.

This corner of my kitchen was just asking for a nod to Australia, and the brown clay plates that I carefully brought back from Chile, couldn’t look more perfect.

It’s graduation week for my oldest son and with most milestones at our house, it comes with mixed emotions. It’s hard for my youngest who is on the severe end of the autism spectrum to join in the celebration. I started working through my feelings last year when I saw students graduating and now that’s it happening for us I’ve worked through the saddest bits.

My oldest had so much fun at his banquet with his friends and family. My youngest was at home with one of his favourite aides and eating his favourite dinner, so well taken care of and in his happy place. The convocation is coming up and with the event being so long and so full of people, our youngest will be at school. I’ve made this backdrop so we can get the cap and gown photos with the brothers as they won’t be together on the day. We adjust, we make it work and we try to do what we can to make the best out of every situation.

Me falta sazón 😆 I love looking at how people store their spices. They really tell so much about a person. Do you need order, do you have a lot of them, what spices do you have that don’t come with a premade label? If you look closely at mine, I have merkén, a special smoky blend my mom gave me that’s used in some Chilean dishes. They are also all in the same kind of bottle and they are in alphabetical order, that says a lot about me too…
