Check out that grain! I had to do a lil’ something for Valentine’s Day. So, I put a little heart shaped spin on one of my handles. Before I apply finish I always check things out with some mineral spirits to check for flaws and see to check out the beauty of the wood. I love how this little board is coming together! All of the steps are important but the final steps of a woodworking project are arguably the most enjoyable. Seeing your work come to life with that first wipe of oil makes it all worthwhile! More than just a cane, this is a stunning piece of functional art.

This 3 piece cane features a Quilted Maple shaft, transitioning to a Black Walnut section, topped with a Birds Eye Maple handle. Each section has been masterfully joined via a dovetail joint and epoxy. The result is a sturdy and exquisite cane, that will surely stand out from others.

Every curve was shaped by hand.
Every joint fit with care.

This cane is 3 pieces of solid wood. Quilted maple, black walnut and a curly maple handle. No shortcuts, no CNC, no mass production. Just time, patience, and respect for natures beauty.

Did I mentions dovetails? Who doesn’t love dovetails??
Pieces like this aren’t made fast, they’re made right.

When you’re building a cane, you’re building something that is going to be in someone’s hand near constantly.
They may need to carry it with them every where they go. It HAS to look and feel amazing. You HAVE to care and you can’t rush. This cane is almost ready for finish, but it absolutely has to be inspected closely, and finally hand sanded to as close to perfection as I can make it.
