Tegallalang rice fields are breathtaking but the real magic is created in the authenticity of the countryside. Today I spent 3 hours without maps getting lost down side streets from Ubud to Mt Batur (my first volcano trek in a couple weeks) and took the scenic route back (aka I actually got lost).
From the waves hello to the work being done, witnessing the streets of the in between destinations has been a joy. Renting a scooter here for the month cost 2 million idr (about $175 can) and has been the ultimate way of travel.
The streets filled with pot holes make you wonder how these tiny scooters still have working suspension lmao and at the end of each unknown road is the most vibrant paradise you’ve ever seen in 4K.
I drove until each road stopped and saw monkeys @ the turn around.
Bali is beautiful.
