This blackberry lavender cake was so fun to make and it tasted really good! I’m usually worried that floral flavours will overpower everything but with the lavender infused milk, lavender syrup basted cake and the blackberry infused buttercream, it all complimented each other beautifully. This was definitely an amalgamation of multiple recipes.

FOOD IS ART

For as long as I can remember, making food look pretty and taste good has been so important to me.
I love when I place a beautiful dish in front of someone and they’re excitement heightens before they even know if it tastes good or not.

Food is colourful, vibrant, and fragrant. It engages so many of the senses and is why I think the world is drawn to its beauty.

Do you like to get creative in the kitchen? Even if it’s something as simple as making myself breakfast in the morning, it is an easy way to foster creativity in my everyday life.

Get out an enjoy that sunshine and hit up those summer garage sales!

I know I will in my thrifted lawn chairs! I always manage to find these babes at garage sales for $1! Not only are they super cute, but they are actually really comfortable. The fabric isn’t hard and stiff so they just feel so good!

Nothing beats thrifting like a good garage sale. You think thrift stores are cheap? Just you wait.

CINNAMON BUN RICE KRISPIES RECIPE

1/4 cup butter (or df option)
5 cups mini marshmallows
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
4-6 cups Rice Krispies (to your gooey liking)

Melt butter in a large pot under medium heat. Add marshmallows. Stir gradually until completely melted. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir until combined. Add Rice Krispies, starting with 4 cups, adding more until marshmallow and Krispies are evenly spread and coated.
Spread and pat down into 9x13 casserole dish or smaller, depending on desired thickness. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Enjoy!

Optional: top with cream cheese icing!

As I continue push my creativity in fashion, I have to come to terms with my own comfort level. Will I rock what I’m wearing because I like it and feel good? Or will I hang it back up in the closet because I’m afraid of what others will think?

And that’s not just when it comes to dressing up, but dressing down. “Is this too boring? But I just want to be comfortable.”

Making the choice to be yourself is a daily choice, and not an easy one.
Shoutout to all of you who are brave enough to be yourself and share who you are with the world! Don’t ever stop!

Whether you are baking cakes for yourself, a loved one, or a client, find simple ways to spice it up!

Instead of a regular chocolate cake, add 1 or 2 tsps of espresso powder and voila! An espresso chocolate cake. Not only is it easy, it makes your baking sound more professional and unique.

I whipped up this cake last minute for my 30th birthday. It’s is an espresso chocolate cake with espresso buttercream! ☕️🎂

I’m getting antsy to start baking cakes again! It’s one of my favorite things to do for my friends. Baking cakes is such a fun way for me to get creative and think outside the box of designs and flavours.

This peanut butter chocolate cake was for my roommates birthday back in the fall. I had the help and inspiration from
Her recipe and design was too good not to make! She gets the credit for this one!
