Hey 🇨🇦 Designers/ Homeowners 🇨🇦!
Now might be the appropriate time to consider custom Roman shades and drapery for your window treatments.

The majority of blinds from companies like Hunter Douglas, Graber & others are manufactured in Mexico, then distributed to Canada from their brand in the USA. In Canada you’ll start to see massive price increases with the new 25% tariffs being slapped on to blinds coming in.

Now is the time to choose wisely: support the sewing rooms in your local city/province, protect jobs and local artisans by purchasing quality products made for you right here in Canada.

Consult us or your favourite Interior Designer to make this happen. Same goes for bedding, furniture and upholstery.

We are here to source materials made locally or from countries that are willing to collaborate effectively with Canada. It’s time.

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted; todays Insta nudge prompt 😉

What a year of transition! Each time I think I’m shutting down Elspeth Interiors, a new project presents itself. 2024 projects kept popping up in Calgary and Canmore. Amazing client returns and referrals for 22 years for which I remain grateful beyond words …🙏 THANK YOU 🙏

So….Here’s to say I’m away but I’m not gone.

In March, Alan & I relocated to Field, BC in Yoho Nat. Park to the magnificent 🇨🇦 Rockies and our mountain home with adjacent rental cabin which you can check out here - https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/1059376961228075799.

It’s been a ride and we’ve loved it so far.
Cabin-in-the-woods dream come true.

Lots of work, many upgrades and reno’s to this 107 yr old home… one room at a time ~ bedroom shown here…

Here’s to adding new chapters…when you love textiles and projects and helping people create spaces that nurture their home comforts, it’s a pleasure to continue.

Hey Canada… how much are we loving the new legislation for cord safety? 🤨😩🫢.

Enter Drapery….
Yeah - good ol’ curtains may answer a lot of your questions for cord compliance, easy operation and style!

Simple and beautiful to see and touch, soft drapery treatments soften a room and allow as much or as little light in as you need.
Our client opted for an automated solar screen on the upper west windows for functionality, but wanted the ‘feels’ of soft, cozy drapes that absorb the echoes that often come with large rooms with vaulted ceilings- especially with many homes sporting 20 ft height which bring with them enormous windows!

Room darkening drapes for the bedroom added everything she needed to enjoy the view and darken the room for sleeping - all with one single treatment.

Oh happy day!
Receiving this African beauty from some super talented Elephant grass weavers in Bolga, Ghana - flattened in completely understated packaging (see 3rd pic) gets my vote!

A few sprinkles of water to restore its sexy shape and Voila!

Some electrical parts to be added before it finds its permanent spot suspended over the dining room table.
