There’s something different about designing a forever home.

Every decision matters a little more - how it looks and how holds up to real life. For this Toronto Crescent Custom, we focused on materials that could deliver on both.

A leathered quartzite in the kitchen that is rich, textured, and forgiving enough for everyday use. In the ensuite, a bold Viola marble that makes a statement but also hides the wear that comes with a full, busy household. And more details that will only get better with time: unlacquered brass, site-finished oak floors, a Parisian-style nook with checkerboard marble, and a custom concrete mantle that grounds the space.

We couldn’t be happier with how this project turned out!

This Mother’s Day, I’ve been thinking a lot about the word home.

As both a designer and a mom, I know firsthand how quickly family life shifts. Routines change, kids grow (and yes, so do the pets), and what worked a year ago often doesn’t hold up today. When I sit down to design with a family, I love to imagine every nook and cranny of how the space will actually be used. This means looking at the “how” before the “what” and taking into account the technical logistics of how the whole household moves through a room.

That level of understanding only comes from being invited into the very real, everyday rhythms of a home. So to all the mothers and families who have invited me into their private worlds and trusted our team to define their sanctuary, thank you.

It is an incredible privilege to be part of your journey and to help build a space that supports the people you love exactly the way you do.

Wentworth Hill Renovation is featured in the .

This was one of those projects that felt special from the very beginning. As we spent more time with our clients, understanding how they actually live and move through their home, it became clear the space needed more than surface updates. It needed to work better for them.

So we stepped back and rethought the entire main floor making it feel more connected and easier to live in day to day.

The design leans modern transitional with subtle Scandinavian influence. Clean lines and simplicity, layered with natural textures and materials that will last. Neutral, timeless pieces anchor the space, while smaller details bring in personality.

It’s calm, bright, and welcoming, and most importantly, supports how this family actually lives. We’re so thrilled to see this project celebrated!

At first, the plan for this family home was simple: repaint the dark wood cabinets, swap out the counters, and add a new backsplash. But as conversations unfolded about how they live, gather, and move through the space, it quickly became clear that a more thoughtful redesign would better support their lifestyle.

Together, we reimagined the entire main floor, from the great room to the home office, so the space could feel connected and functional.

The final design blends modern transitional style with warm Scandinavian influences, pairing clean lines and minimalism with natural textures and enduring materials. Neutral, classic furnishings ground the space, while smaller accents bring in personality, creating a home that feels bright, welcoming, and ready for all the little moments that make this family’s story truly theirs.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with my clients to really get to know who they are and how they live. I love being there for them from the first design drawings all the way to the last toss cushion.

To our clients, thank you for letting us into your homes, your stories, and your trust.

We often talk about materials that endure, but “enduring” doesn’t always mean staying frozen in time. Sometimes, it’s about choosing materials that age gracefully alongside your family.

Take unlacquered brass or natural marble, for example. These are what we call living finishes. Over time, they develop a patina, a soft, natural weathering that comes from touch and daily life. For many, that gradual change becomes the soul of a home, telling the story of shared meals, hands on the bannister, and everyday moments. It’s classic, slightly eclectic, and deeply personal.

Of course, some people prefer surfaces that look exactly as they did on install day. That’s perfectly fine too! The key is choosing finishes that align with your lifestyle and what brings you joy in your home.

I’d love to hear from you: Do you enjoy the character that comes with a little wear and tear, or do you prefer surfaces that stay looking brand new? Share your thoughts in the comments!

One of our latest renovation projects, Cayuga, has been featured in The Globe and Mail.

What was once my client’s grandmother’s late-60s home has been completely reimagined for their young family. This project embodies Modern Heritage: enduring craftsmanship with fresh, lived-in elegance. From moody cabinetry and natural stone counters to playful details and a bold botanical powder room, it’s a home that honours its past while embracing life’s next chapter.

We’re so thrilled to see this project celebrated!

It’s been a busy few weeks at the studio. With the usual spring rush upon us, I’ve noticed more homeowners reaching out for guidance while their renovations are already underway or imminently starting. I’m always so grateful to be thought of when things get complicated! At the same time, when a project is already in full swing, it can be harder for us to step in and provide the most value.

So I wanted to offer a little guidance on the ideal time to bring a designer on board.

The best moment is before the first hammer swings. When we’re involved from the very beginning, we can truly advocate for you. We speak the technical language of contractors and architects, which means we can catch those small but important details, like the perfect placement of a faucet, before they turn into costly “oops” moments.

Our goal is always to bring calm and clarity to the process. We narrow down the endless choices so you only see what fits your style and your life.

If you’re dreaming about a project later this year, now is the perfect time to start the conversation. Our schedule tends to fill a few months in advance, and starting early means we can get the planning just right. So when the work begins, you’ll be able to enjoy the experience every step of the way.

A quick look back at 2025

Featured in Style at Home (online exclusive) and Divine Flooring’s Idea Project, shortlisted for the Design et al international design awards, twice named a finalist for Western Living’s Design 25 - and most importantly, growing an incredible team I’m so proud of.

Grateful, energized, and ready for what’s next.
