Why do we lay our turkeys flat to roast? I decided to try something different.
I’m not a chef. I’m a home cook, just like you. Questioning the usual way of roasting and experimenting in my own kitchen is how the UpRoaster came to be.
For this test, I roasted two approximately 19 lb turkeys at the same time in the same home oven: one on a flat roasting pan with a rack, the other on the UpRoaster.
After about 2½ hours, both breast probes read 165°F. But underneath? Very different results.
Watch the reveal for yourself.
With Canadian Thanksgiving on October 12 and US Thanksgiving on November 26, now’s a great time to plan your roast. Keep your favourite recipe, seasonings and family traditions. Try a different way to roast.
Turkey, chicken, duck or shawarma, what’s going on your Thanksgiving table?
