There is honestly nothing better than this feeling 🤎

I swear the Calgary Stampede fireworks is the Canadian version of the Disneyland fireworks. Every night of the 10 day rodeo there are the most beautiful and longest fireworks show ❤️.

How beautiful is it that you get to watch them VIP from your Airbnb balcony?

Question: Have you also felt that sometimes the manifestations that happen the quickest are the manifestations you didn’t realize you were making? The manifestations were like a fleeting thought in your head you didn’t think twice about?

That’s exactly what this was for me. I had this thought of “wow this would be nice” but literally didn’t think anything of it. I had also worked like a dog for the last 2 years and just wanted to enjoy what I’ve done so far but life I guess said “not yet “😂 (I tried 🤷‍♀️).

It was pretty surreal for me though. Because I had surrendered so much to letting the universe/higher power/God/spirituality show me my path, it was almost impossible to miss when the path did present itself to me. I really don’t think I surrendered as much as I did with this compared to other things in life. Mind you I didn’t really realize I was surrendering at all haha.

I can just think of so many times in my life where I’ve had horse blinders on for the things that I wanted. Maybe I missed some obvious paths that were trying to present itself to me because I had such a clear vision of what I thought I needed or wanted,etc.

Ambition is good but trusting and leaning in the mysteries of life is equally good if not better.

I really don’t know how I did it (I’m looking at you month of February 👀).

To think that I was so close of not going ahead with following my dream of doing an Airbnb to wrapping up this year being halfway done designing my second one 🥹.

This has hands down been the most anxiety provoking and stressful year of my life. I had to learn how to do so many new things and trust the unknown a bit at first. It also however, been a dream come true. In a weird way isn’t that what life is supposed to be like though? To take leaps of faith, to bet on yourself and to go after what your heart of hearts desires?

I am ending 2025 in the best and happiest way possible. I can’t wait to experience all the mysteries and magic 2026 brings not just me but all of us 💕.

I was avoiding showing you this part of the Howdy House for a reason but it’s finally time.

If you live in an older home chances are there is a structural or part of the house that you are just not proud of. A space that looks dated or just not you. It could be these dated oak cabinets, an old/ugly backsplash in your bathroom or a wall/corner in your home that is just tricky/awful.

In Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) there is a skill called opposite action. Meaning you do the opposite of what your brain tells you to do when you feel certain emotions. For example, if you feel fear your brain may automatically want you to run away/avoid the situation when actually doing the opposite of that (approaching and not avoiding) is actually the best thing you can do.

For this kitchen, I just hate the finish of the cabinets so much. I wanted to avoid it. Instead, I decided to lean into it full swing. Not only was I going to embrace it but I was going to keep it the main focal point (until I am ready to reno the kitchen).

Often times our minds can go into “All or nothing thinking” of if I can’t do this 100% I’m not going to do it at all. If we get hooked by these thoughts in design we can really miss an opportunity to make the most out of a situation and allow ourselves to improve the space, even in the smallest way. Sure polishing the cabinets doesn’t change the finish that I don’t like but it really does make a difference and makes the space look 10x better.
