The Real Duende Design

Us Gen Xers aren't often strong when it comes to technology. Last Fall I decided to expand my skillset and started taking classes on AI. I have used these new skills to help clients and colleagues visually realize their home re-design aspirations and I absolutely love being able to show people end results without spending 40 hours using a rendering program.

If you have a space you want re-imagined the service fee is $150.00 and I provide a storyboard with the final photo plus a sample and listing of the selected finishes (furniture/lighting/rugs/paint).

In the sample below the couple loved spanish colonial design, so I brightened the space while staying true to the simple, organic Spanish colonial design concept.

The brick was competing with the beautiful wood ceiling, so a simple alabaster Venetian plaster finish on the fireplace surround was the beginning of the transformation. Then alabaster walls, a cotton twill sofa and armchairs featuring Spanish-inspired wood legs. I love the finished product!

talk about being out of my comfort zone! I have NEVER accepted a design job that was a MEDITERRANEAN theme. It is not an aesthetic I am comfortable designing, so when this opportunity arose, I had to lean in and say yes, because no growth happens in the comfort zone! From Mediterranean to modern Rustic Italian!

Really enjoyed this Anglemont, BC property refresh. The client has solid basics, and everything just needed a refresh and to become more cohesive. Client requested earthy, warm colors.

The scope of work included: Add area rugs, bedding, art and decor. I wanted to tone down the yellow in the wood floors and ceiling, so I chose a steely dark blue grey for the walls (Phillipsburg Blue by Benjamin Moore), which will be shocking and moody. To balance the addition of this dark color we are increasing the amount of lighting as well as increasing the wattage of the existing lightbulbs.

I love the Shuswap so much, it's my favorite place to design cabins and weekend homes! Nothing beats the lush greenery and deep blue of the lakes.....

So thrilled to finish out this new build townhouse into an Air BnB for my clients in Invermere, BC. I am particularly excited about the teen hang out loft on the top floor -bean bag chairs for everyone!
