Completed another round dining table. I decided to go with a jet-black satin finish which I’m really liking. Look at the oak grain catch the light!

This is a 42” diameter, solid oak top with our favourite “thumbnail” edge profile. Paired with a steel-weighted, black powder-coated steel base with built-in levelling feet.

Another beautiful little dining table for a great client! Our client needed help downsizing to make their condo more functional. Their only problem was that they couldn’t find a small-medium dining table to meet their quality standards. We put together this top with some gorgeous, 2.5” thick, figured black walnut with a stylish steel base. For someone with such a discerning eye and taste for art, we’re honoured to have one of our pieces included in their collection!

Finished up this black walnut round dining table and really love how it turned out…might even have to hang onto this one!
First, tried a “thumbnail” edge profile which feels really nice to the touch but maintains a crisp top line.
Next, tried a satin clear finish which mutes the typical “chocolatey” tone of walnut which I’m really liking.
Finally, found this funky steel pedestal base that gives the piece some unique visual interest.

Here we have an island top we recently completed for some great neighbours. This was a special project as the ash slabs were salvaged from their cottage. They wanted a way to have a piece of their cottage when they’re at home in the city. I think we accomplished that mission!

The island is completely sealed and waterproof so that it is durable enough to serve as the central high-traffic hangout of their home, and achieve the sleek under-mount sink they were after.

Bar stools are not pictured but will be along the front side.

Recently finished this pair of matching side tables in natural white oak. I thought the black stand-offs that elevate the top from the base might give them a neat look. What do you think?
